PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This position serves as a site resource to co-ordinate, facilitate and support the implementation of lean principles in a continuous improvement environment. Interfaces with all functional groups to apply best practice and execute change that links continuous improvement opportunities with short and long term strategic objectives. This role will also investigate and support the examination and implementation of LCC sourcing and support all aspects of the manufacturing process, along with assisting site related projects and initiatives. Incumbent will have a dotted line to Site Director.
RESPONSIBLE FOR
Working with minimal guidance and making decisions based on the analysis of production and financial data with knowledge and experience of range of Lean and CI principles and procedures.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze processes using established continuous improvement techniques (statistical analyses, Takt time studies, value stream mapping, 5S, SMED, problem solving, Single piece flow etc) to optimize performance.
Apply the Lean Six Sigma Methodology (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) and Lean Manufacturing tools to continuous improvement efforts to achieve financial and customer benefits.
Actively participates in a continuous improvement network to share best practices, remove waste and reduce lead-times through process understanding.
Develop methods to improve cell-planning systems to operate with lower inventory, i.e. pull based Kanban controls, single piece flow, etc.
Compile Data analysis collection of Key KPI to measure improvement, trends related to Business measures.
PC literate, knowledge of SAP and use of mini Cad and advantage use to draw up new tooling and be able to communicate accurately and technically and able to present findings.
Be flexible in approach and work within a cost down team to drive down lowest cost on new quotations and take out costs on current methods (think outside the box) and cross train where business risks indicate we have a technical shortfall within your capability
Experienced in all aspects of our current manufacturing processes would benefit and strengthen the team.
Improve rework costs and build right first time culture (currently spend 10k per month average.
May be possible to work or transfer product lines into LC centre’s.
Must have a proven successful track record of developing a team based approach and the effective motivation of teams. Needs to be a good communicator, expected to communicate effectively at all levels. Post holder will have the ability to develop and deliver training in continuous improvement techniques to ensure thorough local understanding of the issues and benefits.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Primarily the position will entail leading operational projects using Lean Manufacturing principles in order to improve quality, cost and delivery, as well as participating in site-wide multifunctional teams to support the PLM process, RCCA, Manufacturing issues, DFx and Job costing.
RESPONSIBLE FOR
Leading and supporting Lean initiatives.
Liaising with Engineering, Quality & Supply Chain in RCCA of manufacturing / design issues.
Represent Operations in PLM / NPI activities.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead & be a member of multifunctional teams in Lean cell implementation across the manufacturing facility.
Wastes analysis of manufacturing processes to develop elimination plans.
Conduct Root Cause Corrective Action analysis to improve QCD.
Design of creative work holding solutions for single-piece flow lean cells and for the general manufacturing facility.
Effectively manage suppliers (tooling, design services etc.) in order to deliver against objectives.
Working within IPTs to create and support the PFMEA process where necessary.
Liaise with Engineering on key NPI (new product introduction) projects to promote DFx disciplines and agree manufacturing methods for hardware.
Using 3D CAD/CAM, generate CNC programmes
MBD and Finance in developing product costs for new products.
Work with Supply Chain in order to facilitate Make / Buy decisions.
Support the development of Key supplier processes to improve OTD / Quality.
Upload / Update the ERP system as appropriate when manufacturing changes occur.
Identify capital expenditure and complete full justifications (Capital Expenditure Request)
Support Customer attended meetings when manufacturing issues are being discussed.

A senior member of the ‘Operation’s Management’ team, who will be responsible for all production related activities (systems, processes & people), working in the warehouse on a rotating shift pattern (6-2 & 2-10). The role involves the management of approximately 15 warehouse based production operatives.
Role Description:
The production facility operates three shifts per day (6-2, 2-10 & 10-6); each shift is managed by a production shift manager. The production shift manager’s role involves the daily management of a team of warehouse based production operatives, who are responsible for processing sales orders for cut to size metal bars, sheets & tubes.
The key requirement of the role is to ensure that we deliver high levels of on time delivery (OTIF) and quality to our customers, within or below budgeted costs – whilst maintaining the highest level of Health & Safety.
A continuous improvement ‘Mind Set’ is critical in improving systems, process and continuously developing the team’s skills.
Main Accountabilities:
• The role involves being a key holder, opening up the premises and getting the facility ready for production prior to shift commencement and locking up the facility after shift completion (when required).
• The daily management & development of a team of production operatives, including;
o HR related activities.
