Role:
. Reports to the Electrical Systems Manager
. To undertake the design of electronic/electrical systems architecture for military and commercial vehicle applications.
. To build electronic/electrical system integration core engineering competencies.
. Provide best practice in the implementation of effective robust and value engineering.
. Develop/ build and test electrical / electronic integration for vehicle systems.
. Be a core member of design development team.
Area's of responsibilities
. Support specification development to meet customer needs - processes and systems, and support interface with the customer and business stream team.
. Evaluating / filtering change requests and scope change from baseline specification.
. Concept and detail design of electronics / electrical and RF integrated engineering systems.
. Responsible for the design, and system integration to meet the requirements of binding legislation, technical best practice, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
. Produce detailed design packages to support the engineering team and contain all details required by production planning.
. Resolve design queries and inspection report issues.
. Producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and schedules, harness drawings, items Lists and Bills of Materials, produce purchase requisitions, identifying critical issues.
. Specifying/developing and implementing test plans.
. Testing/Verification of system solutions, module interfaces to vehicle support and customer interfaces.
. Tracking and resolution of problems.
. Diagnosing and providing rectification solutions to integrated platforms.
. Supporting production builds and in-field requirements as necessary.
. Assist the proposal and sales department to produce schemes for bids and sales.
Essential skills:
. Background in electrical/electronic engineering, focus on system integration and solution implementation.
. Working knowledge of CAD and electronic design tools.
. Proven electronic design experience, preferably in a military environment.
. Experience of specifying/ developing components and detailed procurement specifications.
. Proven understanding of EMC, RF and data communication requirements.
. Experience of serial data communication of fibre optic solutions would be an advantage.
. Knowledge of IEE 17th edition desirable.
. Proficient in 2D document generation for electronic schematics.
. Conversant with electrical / electronic design and RF integration requirements and methodologies.
. 5 Years+ in a similar design related environment.
Qualifications:
Degree in electronic engineering discipline or lower qualification supplemented with additional experience.

Our client provides an integrated specialist approach to the design, supply and through life capability management of its own and other products in the military equipment and government non-military sector and deployed infrastructure sectors with focus on agility, integrity and quality.
They are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician in their Cambridge Specialist Vehicles division.
Areas of responsibility include:
Audit of in-process and final product to meet strict quality standards.
Carry out inspections against drawings and appropriate specifications.
Implement the preventative and corrective action requirements.
Investigate any quality issues to identify route cause.
Manage manufacturing master drawings ensuring that build standard control is maintained.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding and knowledge of Quality inspection and auditing principles.
Successful candidates will have knowledge of manufacturing processes, including MIG and TIG welding, joining technology, metal fabrication techniques, electrical and pneumatic systems, machining techniques and painting systems. The ability to communicate at all levels and to have problem solving skills is essential.
