Staff
The engineer is responsible for assisting in the training and development of apprentice and post apprentice engineers and supervising contractors on site in accordance with the company policies and procedures.

This role will apply practical skills, knowledge and experience to the workplace and assist in the timely and competent completion of repairs, maintenance and improvement activities within the business while assisting and team-working with other members of the department. This role assists in ensuring regulatory and legal requirements are met on our plant and services
Key Accountabilities:
Maintaining production plant, machinery and equipment to increase its life and reduce the potential for unplanned downtime / failure.
Have a working knowledge of all production equipment, machinery and plant to quickly identify faults and make necessary repairs and / or improvements to assist in meeting the operational plans.
Supporting and working with other engineers to repair, maintain and improve plant reliability.
Identifying maintenance requirements on plant and equipment.
Assist in project planning, and execution.
Coordinate with suppliers, contractors and production for improvement work and repairs to plant and machinery.
Raise and complete Purchase orders.
Support production with a high quality / level of service and commitment to reducing downtime and improving the plant and equipment.
Maintain a high level of organisation and good working practice within the engineering workshops (own work area) and around the work area in the production environment.
Supporting initiatives to reduce energy consumption through repairing air leaks etc. and sourcing viable low energy alternative parts.
Co-ordinate contractor activity and inspect the quality of contractors work.

Process Managers and operators for production / downtime issues and projects.
Contractors and suppliers for projects, spares and replacement parts.
Safety, Engineering and Facilities Managers for advice on new legislation / assistance to ensure legal compliance.
Office staff where work dictates e.g. lighting replacement.
Accounts payable when dealing with invoice queries.
Other individuals / companies both internal and external that will assist in completing tasks.

City & Guilds / BTEC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
