POSITION:

Miller - Programmer/ Setter/ Operator

SALARY & PACKAGE:

£20,000 - £25,000 - + Benefits

POSSIBLE LOCATION OF CANDIDATES:

Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Stroud and Forest of Dean

THE ROLE:

This person will be joining a small team of engineers to develop and work in the production of high tolerance components for a range of small batch and one off's..

Using your proven experience as a Miller you will be interpreting sketches and specifications to produce tight tolerance and high precision plastic components.

Using your precision engineering experience you will use Haas knowledge and will be setting and programming various modern Vertical machining centres.

Ideally you will have CAD / CAM knowledge which will prove to be a great advantage and allow the creative individual to give ideas and input into jigs/fixtures and components.

THE CANDIDATE:

Essentially you must have machining experience working with tight tolerance and high precision engineering components. The most ideal candidates will also have experience with Haas and/or XYZ Prototrak operating systems.

You must be able to work to tight tolerances and be a competent programmer, setter, operator to excel in this role.

Eventually it is intended for this person to use the CAD / CAM software so if you are already experienced then it will prove to be advantage.

Some experience of machining plastics would be useful but is not essential as training will be given.

Ideally you will have 5 years experience as a Miller who can set and programme machinery and work unsupervised.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assemble original/refurbished specialist vehicles and equipment complete to customer’s specification as outlined in the Customers Order.
• Work must be of a very high standard and quality in accordance with ISO 9001 ensuring vehicle reliability and appearance is Maximised.
• Ensure process control documentation (VQD) has been signed off and completed in the correct manner.
• Support Production Supervisors, as required.
• Provide technical support to those Employees who have limited knowledge.
• Would be required to work the Company’s basic working week i.e. 39½ hours in order to assume control and ownership of the vehicle and support other members of the team working a full week.
• Ability to work independently as well as contributing to a successful team and accept ownership of the vehicle throughout the assembly process.

Other Duties

• It would be expected that Technicians at this level would be multi-skilled and demonstrate the necessary flexibility to work additional hours as and when required in order to achieve the required delivery time.
• Demonstrate a positive working attitude to ensure that deadlines are met.
• Occasional fork lift driving
• General upkeep of working area
• On occasion liaise with the Design and/or Quality Staff regarding any production related queries and completing the relevant documentation.

Qualifications:

• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship within a manufacturing environment or a proven engineering background with fitting experience. A working knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrical PLC experience and vehicle operation is required.
• Fork Lift Licence

Minimum Experience

• At least 5 years continuous service from your current employment date and have a sound knowledge of most of the Company’s Products.

It starts at £9.03H and after three months goes up to £9.89H there is pay rise after 2 years and after five years.
