Electronics Engineer - Rugby - Circa £40,000
Some travel to France will depend on projects but will probably be a couple of times a month for no more than 1 -2 days.

£35000 to £40000 per annum
Key Requirements;
Knowledge of electronic designs and concepts, specifically of high voltage switching techniques and switch mode power supply design using both solid state and spark gap technologies.
Ability to work with high voltage equipment (typically 2000 volts)
Familiarity with aerospace and industrial ignition products (need to understand the concepts even if they have not worked with the projects.
Willingness to travel frequently in the UK and abroad and share best practice across the Meggitt group.
Concept Design.
· Working to customer specifications to identify new or adapted designs for high power ignition exciters in industrial or aerospace applications.
· Liaising with the customer to agree scope of supply and produce detailed specification.
· Development of the design including PCB layouts (knowledge of Cadstar would be advantageous).
· Initial proto-type build (In conjunction with development engineer).
· Working with the mechanical engineers to agree space envelopes and design for certification.
· EMC considerations and pre-compliance testing.
· Working to agreed specification and good design practice to ensure product meets all environmental and operational requirements, including reliability considerations.
Production Support
· Working with Development Engineer to assemble low volume or intricate assemblies, including prototypes.
· Define and conduct production acceptance testing, including development of automatic test equipment (ATE), where applicable.
· Setting of some electronic devices in preparation for assembly.
· Fault finding, product improvement and repair activities.
Obsolescence
· Managing obsolescence and working with supply chain to predict and avoid obsolescence issues.
· Working with supply chain to identify alternative sources for obsolete parts/components.
Essential Skills/Experience
· >5 years electrical design engineering experience.
· HNC/Degree level in an electronics engineering discipline.
· Willingness to travel regularly and work across several design sites in the support of multiple projects.
· Good oral and written French communications skills.
· Experience of New Product Introduction (NPI).
· Proficient PCB Layout skills, CADSTAR preferred.
· Experience of FMEA/FMECA tools for reliability prediction and design risk management.
· Preparation and interpretation of engineering drawings/documents.
· Ability to define test regimes and generate engineering reports.
· Proficient with the use of the Microsoft Office standard business tools.
· Organisation skills
· Scheduling and prioritisation skills
· Experience of continuous improvement techniques.

The role can be based in either Basingstoke or Rugby but please note that where ever you're based you will be required to travel to the other site often. There is also a requirement for significant travel to France to support projects there. This can average out at 1 - 2 days a week so candidates MUST be prepared to do this.

Bill of Materials Engineer - Worcestershire - Circa £25,000
Role Summary/Purpose
Join the R&D/Engineering team and utilize your Bill of Materials / Production engineering experience to support the product release and maintenance in the SRV industry.

£20000 to £25000 per annum
Essential Responsibilities
Provide Bill of Materials (BOM) Engineering support to design teams for product development and documentation release. As part of the Production Engineering team your role includes product BOM structuring and release, Engineering Change Requests (ECR), updating label database. The requirements for producing and releasing documentation should be according to company guidelines.
New Product Introduction teams require pro-active participation to support product development processing Bill of Materials. Process submitted ECR, complete production-engineering requirements, obtain approvals, and initiate BOM changes.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Engineering graduate in Electronics or Electrical or Mechanical.
• 4+ years demonstrated or equivalent experience with Bill of Materials product structuring.
• Experience with electro-mechanical assembly process.
• Demonstrated quality involvement in previous assignments and practices.
• Familiarization with engineering change control practices, responsibilities, and Mfg planning systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work with R&D and Manufacturing teams to deliver innovative Product Engineering process improvements.
• Must have excellent communications (verbal and written), scheduling, organizational, teamwork, multi-tasking skills and high enthusiasm.
• Make technical presentations to peers and managers as required concerning the assigned tasks.
• Typing skills sufficient to operate a personal computer and knowledgeable with Email, and Microsoft office software.
