Description: Product design and development
Test and demonstration of design projects & components.
General project engineering activities that may include project reporting, project timing plans, project coordination & communication.
Involvement & communicating standards activities (Reporting and acting role)
Involved with ATEX product applications (Reporting & acting role)
Technical support for ESP products including, PCB design/development, coordinating & acting on ESP quality returns.
Technical literature support for Product Manager & Marketing dept.
Customer & Supplier support.
Qualifications/skills
Electrical/Electronic Engineering Knowledge.
Interpersonal Skills.
Verbal & written communication skills.
Basic mechanical Engineering knowledge.
A knowledge of EMC immunity testing would be an advantage (electromagnetic compatibility).

Manufacturing Process Engineer - Nottingham - Circa £32,000
The Manufacturing Engineering department, in Nottingham provides a comprehensive range of engineering services, to assist in the manufacture of products for our clients various customers.

The current vacancy will be filled by an engineer who has comprehensive knowledge and hands on experience in the support of equipment, programs & processes used for the assembly of complex printed circuit boards. This knowledge will be applied to assist in supporting existing product ranges and in particular new products as they are brought into production.
We are constantly motivated to develop techniques to: -
Improve manufacturing quality yields
Speed up manufacturing throughput
Improve responsiveness to customer orders
Reduce manufacturing costs
Improve product manufacturability via design for manufacture feedback to customer
Key Responsibilities: -
Working with other engineers & technicians to maintain and develop our manufacturing processes, by application of knowledge of SMT, SPI/AOI, ACI, and in particular Wave soldering, Selective Soldering and Rework equipment:-
Key Equipment from: MPM, Camalot, Cyberoptic, ASM Siplace, Rehm, Universal, Soltec
Optimisation of oven/solder m/c profiles, stencil design and consumable materials to support key processes
Generate programs using CAD/CAM packages e.g. Unicam
Design of tools, jigs & fixtures
Create documentation and train staff
Refinement of equipment programs to increase speed & reduce attrition
Monitor key quality data and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Provide design for manufacture assistance to customers on their products
Liaise with production management and other support functions to resolve problems or to improve methods
Support scheduled maintenance activities & resolve breakdowns in a timely manner
Work closely with our new product introduction team to ensure products enter into production against established project time scales, resolving problems and reporting back to customer

We currently have a number of new product opportunities which will require the creation of assembly solutions. The current vacancy will be filled by an engineer who has been trained in the principles of Lean Manufacturing and other Continuous Improvement tools and who is able to deploy this knowledge into developing efficient manufacturing solutions for the assembly of various electronic enclosures.

Review existing flow cells and apply Lean and CI techniques to achieve further improvements.
