Projects Engineer - Poole - Up to £34,000
Job purpose summary: To provide Design/Project Engineering to ensure the successful completion of Customer purchase orders on schedule and within budget.

£30000 to £34000 per annum
Key Functional Responsibilities:
Review documentation to ensure compliance with Customer specification and Code requirements.
Produce design details and layouts, organize the production of manufacturing drawings and produce all required documents.
Deliver “design for manufacture”, liaising with Operations personnel to ensure most practical/cost effective method of manufacture.
Compile all manufacturing and project documentation as required, ensuring all documentation is produced in a timely manner.
Ensure all required supplier documents are submitted on schedule, together with regular progress reports.
Closely monitor their assigned projects against specified schedule & budget targets.
Produce data and documentation to support project reporting.
Issue milestone invoices to the specified schedule and ensure cash is received in line with agreed payment terms.
Act as the main contact with the Customer and foster a good working relationship with their personnel.
Take part in customer & inspection visit meetings as required by the quality plan.
Act as main contact with the Certifying Authority and Third Party Inspection agencies. Submit all necessary documents to gain design approval and coordinate Certifying Authority and Inspection visits as required by the quality plan.
Monitor purchasing activities to resolve problems and ensure scheduled deliveries are met.
Monitor manufacturing activities, resolving problems or non-conformances.
Arrange external services such as NDT, transportation, painting or packing.
Measures of Performance
· Timely provision of project information / data to Project Manager and / or Customer / Inspection Authority.
· Accuracy of technical information / documentation required for Operations / Customers / Certifying Authorities.
· Efficient organization of Customer / Inspection Authority visits as required by the schedule.
· Adherence to the NPF process as supported by successful audit results.
Person Specification
Technical education to Degree/HND level
Likely junior to mid-level experience (circa 3+ years) in a design/project engineering role.
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office & AutoCAD.
Experience in a design engineering role within an ISO 9000 manufacturing environment.
Strong communication skills as necessary to interact with a range of Customers internationally.
Likely to be interested in developing career by increasing project management responsibilities.
Experience of pressure vessel codes and oil company requirements would be an advantage.
Awareness of heat exchanger design would be an advantage.
Able to undertake occasional travel within the UK and overseas.

Submarine Maintenance Review / Reliability Engineer required to join an organisation, which has provided technical support services to the MOD's Director In-Service Submarines (DISM) for over 10 years.
Job Specification:
The Submarine Support Management Group (SSMG) Design Services Group (DSG) provides professional and technical support to the MoD submarine platform Design Authorities for all in-service Royal Navy submarines.
The Maintenance Review and Reliability Engineer will be responsible for undertaking review of in-service submarine Planned Maintenance Schedule (PMS) and Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) requirements. Responsibilities also include analysis of submarine defect data and production of reliability reports.
The successful candidate will report to the ARM and RoM Team Leader and is responsible for tasks including:
- Review of Platform and Combat Systems PMS to recommend improvements in effectiveness and efficiency,
- Assessment of RCM studies to facilitate Design Authority technical approval,
- Contribution to RCM studies,
The post holder will undertake submarine Availability, Reliability and Maintainability (ARM) tasks including interrogation of the submarine defect databases and analysis of Combat System and Platform defect data.
The successful applicant will be capable of developing technical reports describing ROM and ARM investigation and analysis results and will be able to establish and maintain relevant working contacts in the MOD, including In-Service Submarine support IPT, Equipment IPTs and other MOD agencies.
The applicant shall be technically qualified in a marine biased disciplines to at least ONC level or have previous experience of Reliability Centred Maintenance and in-service ARM analysis.
Candidates will ideally have experience of submarine system engineering in the maintenance and upkeep of nuclear submarines at the Charge Chief level or suitable experience in the upkeep and repair of plant at civilian / dockyard engineer level is beneficial.
