Multiskilled Engineer
Reporting to: Engineering Manager
Job Purpose
To support the Manufacturing Plant and all equipment and buildings including the
offices at all sites. To ensure optimum production performance at all times.
Permanent
£22000 to £25000 + £5k shift allowance
Accountabilities
1. To be responsible for completing all preventative maintenance work on site on time
and ensuring all records are completed and up to date at all times.
2. To ensure unplanned downtime is kept to an absolute minimum with regard to
mechanical and/or electrical failures.
3. To ensure that all equipment is maintained to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
4. To be proactive in detecting and diagnosing electrical and mechanical problems
whether existing or potential on all equipment.
5. To interpret engineering drawings and specifications when required to diagnose
and resolve problems or when installing new equipment.
6. To install or modify all existing equipment on site as and when required.
7. To provide mechanical and electrical support and guidance to other Engineers as
and when required.
8. To drive and maintain forklift trucks working with external contractors, when
required.
9. To maintain factory services in very good order and ensure housekeeping around
electrical sub station and distribution panels are kept to the highest standard.
10. To adhere to the Company’s policies and procedures and ensure that you respect
and adhere to these with regard to health and safety, minimisation of waste and care for the environment, equality of opportunity, elimination of discrimination and unfair treatment and prevention of fraud.
11. To encourage and pursue a policy of continuous improvement and ensure, through
co-ordination with the Quality Assurance Manager, that departmental procedures
and work instructions are maintained, up-dated when necessary and adhered to.
12. To adhere to the (CAP’s) and where appropriate manage and monitor expenditure under your control.
13. To undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time by the Group
Directors or your Manager.
Skills and Experience
1. Fully experienced electro-mechanical engineer with a proven track record of having worked successfully in a similar fast moving continuous manufacturing environment using TPM and other preventative maintenance systems.
2. Must possess a recognised electrical and mechanical engineering qualifications to
HNC/HND Level or NVQ Level 3 or 4.
3. Must possess PLC programming experience and proven training record.
4. Conscientious motivated individual with an enquiring mind who is able to contribute to the continuous improvement of the engineering function.
