Senior HR Officer - St Helens - Up to £35,000
Our client is a leading international producer of fresh prepared foods and produce.

£30000 to £35000 per annum
They now require a Senior HR Advisor to support the Head of HR to ensure the HR function adds value to the business through delivery of the HR strategy and associated plans against best practice standards.
Accountabilities
1 Business / Site Improvement understands the business issues, priorities, and key drivers. Ensures Line Managers understand and buy into the people issues and HR influences their decisions. Effectively drives through and manages change / improvements to meet the objectives of culture, cost, quality and time. Involved in delivering the profit improvement plans.
2 HR Plan input into the development and delivery of an annual HR Plan which is aligned to and contributes to the delivery of the Business HR Strategy. Ensure that this is communicated and understood by Line Managers.
3 Team Development Ensure that training needs are identified, agreed and satisfied for all levels of managers through the performance appraisals and PDPs. Support delivery of training against the plan in conjunction with the Training Officer. Ensure that the DAS process is in place and reviewed in line with our clients minimum standards.
4 Resource Management ensure that the right calibre of people from shop floor up to and including Band D Managers are in place at the right time to meet the needs of the business and in line with the clients Values.
5 Measurement to review and take action against functional / operational KPIs that measure and monitor the effectiveness of the HR Plan and overall HR Strategy to drive forward people and performance.
6 HR Steps to Excellence work with the Head of HR to ensure the standards of the HR Steps to Excellence are delivered and meet all legal requirements and actions plans are in place to drive continuous improvement.
7 Structural Reviews is involved in reviewing structures to meet the current needs and implement changes as required.
8 HR Processes to ensure that the HR Processes such as recruitment and selection, disciplinary, grievance and handling conflict procedures, communications, attendance management, health and well being including Occ Health liaison and job evaluation for both shop floor and broadbanded roles up to the direct reports of the Exec Team meet the clients minimum standards.
9 People Management to manage, coach and develop the HR Administration, HR Co-ordinator, HR Officers, Cafι, Reception and Occupational Health.
10 Employee Relations to ensure that we have an informed workforce and develop a continuous improvement culture that also supports a caring culture for its people. Supports the Head of HR in annual pay consultations.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To support the full range of professional HR Services to the group by providing managers and employees advice on various HR issues and the associated administration needs, ensuring that operational and legislative requirements are met. The primary focus of the role will be supporting the HR Advisor, deputising for him/ her as appropriate.

Essential
" Must have experience in dealing with a number of different terms and conditions.
" Experience of providing preliminary advice on disciplinary, grievance and staff consultation.
" Minimum of 1 years recent broad generalist experience of HR function operating at Assistant level with administrative responsibilities.
" Good knowledge and awareness of current employment law.
" Ability to deal with day-to-day HR issues, with minimal supervision or assistance.
" High order of interpersonal skills, to gain credibility and respect from people at all levels and maintain a positive relationship with all customers.
" Professional and confident manner showing tact and diplomacy at all times.
" High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and organisational skills.
" Ability to deal with difficult and multiple tasks at any one time and prioritise work to meet demanding time scales.
" Skilled in use of IT packages to an intermediate level, ideally Microsoft Office.

To provide accurate telephone advice to clients on all aspects of personnel and employment law. To tailor the advice to suit the business needs of the individual client.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Ensure that personal knowledge of employment law and personnel best practice is continually updated.
2. Maintain a professional approach at all times.
3. To pass on all potential new business through the Referrals procedure.
4. Ensure that all advice log sheets are filled in accurately and all other client and call information correctly documented.
5. Ensure that all allocated Priority Client calls are returned within 20 minutes.
6. To carry out and report on client visits as required by the Advice Service Manager.
7. Provide clients with supporting documentation, as directed by the Advice Service Manager, to assist them in implementing advice given.
8. Attend and complete training as specified by the Advice Service Manager.
9. Submit all statistics as required by the Advice Service Manager.
10. Report any complaints to the Advice Service Manager.
11. Ensure own working area is kept neat and tidy.
12. Carry out any other tasks deemed necessary by the Advice Service Manager.
