Job Purpose
Role is responsible for supporting the Operational needs of the Customer Delivery teams Logistics Operations associated with the pursuit of exemplar Customer Service. This includes but is not limited to; Managing data, planning movements, effective communications and general administration in line with agreed business policies and procedures.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Processing data through various ERP systems.
Supplier and Customer Management (Operational and Contractual)
Helping to define, report, pay and deliver against budgets.
Co-ordinating daily Logistical Operations.
Reporting and measuring against appropriate KPI and SLAs.
Delivery of improvement projects within sphere of influence.
PERSON SPECIFICATION KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential:
Experience of using data to provide a compelling case for action/change.
At least 2 years experience gained within a Logistics function.
Excellent analytical and conceptual problem solving skills.
Computer literate.
Great at collaboration and building effective relationships internally and externally that deliver business benefit.
Educated to A Level standard
Intelligent
Great communication skills
Loyalty
Willingness to learn quickly and work long hours to deliver results.
Sense of humour/fun
Desirable:
Supply chain knowledge, skills and experience highly desirable but not essential.
Experience of using Lean/Six Sigma process improvement methodologies.
Proven track record of delivering tangible business results through the use of proven Project Management tools.
A background in customer service.
Degree qualified (or equivalent) within a numerate discipline.

Our client, a major food manufacturer, part of a global food group requires an experienced Contract Manager to own the execution of Bagged Supply Chain ensuring the highest levels of safety, customer service, operational performance and cost control through the effective management of 3rd Party Haulier contracts.

Key Result Areas
Line Management: Direct line management responsibility for Pallets & Pallecons, Exports & Raws, Bill Payments & Admin and EU & Interfactory role holders. Lead, develop and inspire your team to deliver exemplar Customer Service within agreed cost constraints.
Contract Management: Oversight responsibility for the day to day management of 3PLs and other Logistics Suppliers in accordance with contracted standards.
Budget Management: Responsible for estimating and presenting an annual budget cost for all Bag activities and controlling spend within an agreed budget (and re-forecasted) allocation.
Customer Management: Responsible for executing Customer orders in accordance with customer expectations (On Time and In Full). Further responsible for the receipt and recording of all customer complaints within the customer experience database and for taking corrective action where the fault lies within the Bag Supply Chain Value stream.
Strategy: Responsible for setting the long-term vision for the Bag Supply Chain team and for the deployment of a CI strategy to deliver business objectives. Further responsible for supporting corporate goals & commercial development.
Leadership: Responsible for example setting and role modelling of behaviours that accord with company values and inspires others to do likewise.
Performance: Customer satisfaction performance is maintained at target (or better) consistently each period for: Delivery on Time, In Full order quantity, Customer Complaints, Safety
Cost: Spend remains in-line (or better) than budget (or re-forecast).
Staff: Turnover/retention of staff remains within business target ranges.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Senior Management experience leading teams and business processes for at least 2 years.
A minimum of 5 years Logistics experience, ideally gained within a Blue-Chip 3rd Party Logistics provider.
Proven track record of leading change initiatives with tangible results.
Exceptional Leadership skills
Excellent Communication skills
Mental agility and decisiveness
Interpersonal skills sufficient to build great team dynamics and influence laterally and upwards.
Degree qualified (or equivalent)

Due to maternity they are looking for a strong, adaptable candidate with buying experience to join the business on an initial 12 month/fixed contract.
The title of the role is "Commodity buyer" and this position covers across many different teams and is most definitely an ad hoc position. You will source anything from stationary if not on core list, deal with new/current suppliers, hold meetings with suppliers, deal with Purchase orders (sap experience - book invoices in/keep track). Work permits - sign it. Photocopier find an engineer if broken etc. So a flexible can-do attitude is essential of course. As is adapability.
SAP experience essential.
Fulltime 08.30-5 1hr for lunch with pro-rata benefits.
