It will be your responsibility to:

• Actively reduce material and process lead times.
• Investigate and identify new sources of supply, where appropriate.
• Interpret production demand patterns and contribute to supply chain policies for both commodities and suppliers that realise a lean value stream.
• Expedite materials and services to ensure the supplier delivery adherence.
• Manage any commercial post order processes and queries in an effective and expeditious manner.
• Able to raise and modify purchased requirements.
• Ensure that supplier agreements are followed and any variations are avoided.
• Have an awareness of the key issues of international trade and the ability to respond accordingly.
• Cooperates and contributes proactively to accomplish Individual, department and company objectives.
• Effective Communication skills both written and verbal.

Customer focused
• Excellent negotiating and networking skills.

Problem solving skills

Requirements:
• Experience of Purchasing within a manufacturing environment, ideally automotive/aerospace.
• Good comprehension of the pace / requirements of medium to high volume production.
• Experience within a lean manufacturing environment. Understanding of Kan Ban principles.
• Strong supplier management skills.
• Ability to interpret impact on inventory.
• Proactive in optimizing supply conditions and negotiating cost, lead times, package size and payment terms.
• Understand impact of supply from overseas.
• Highly experienced within SAP / MRP.
• Ability to be proactive in expediting suppliers rather than reacting to manufacturing demand.
• Excellent communication skills.
