JOB TITLE: BUYER (Procurement Department)
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Work as a member of a procurement team in accordance with relevant procurement procedures.
To interface with Projects, Finance, Materials, Services, suppliers and other interested parties in support of his/her responsibilities.
Implement procurement processes to meet corporate requirements and to support the Business Unit.
Make financial commitments in accordance with corporate procedures and budgets.
Drafting and negotiating Contract Terms and Conditions both for materials and services.
Analyse procurement spend and seek to introduce the most cost effective contracting route to suit each circumstance.
In support of the above the position requires: -
Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply - Foundation Level or equivalent relevant qualification.
2 years relevant experience.
A good understanding of Company Business Unit objectives and Procurement department objectives.
Ability to solve problems and develop solutions.
Good communication skills.
Other relevant information: -
The position will report to The Purchasing Manager.
There will be no direct reports however the post holder will work with all interfaces to deliver the necessary improvements.

Title: FSM Supply Chain Manager
A key role within the collaborative FSM Supply Chain Team, the post holder will be responsible for:
- Working alongside MoD and Industry Partners in supplier engagement activity, ensuring that In-Service supply risks and opportunities are taken into account.
- Informing MoD and Industry Partners on the coherence of FSM supply chain activity with the companies existing and planned supply chain arrangements.
- Inputting to the FSM Supply Chain Groups Risk, Opportunities and Assumptions Management process.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Where very long-lead items are being procured, to liaise with the Industry Partners' procurement and supply chain departments, in order to design the in-service aspects of the through-life supply chain plan.
- To input supply chain cost data and information to the Design for Minimum Cost model as required.
- To assist in populating the companies contribution to the FSM Category Management Activities.
- Assist in the review of the Engineering Procurement Plan.
- Assist in the capability and capacity analysis of very long-lead item suppliers.
- Provide periodic performance and status reports to the FSM Supply Chain Manager as required.
Maintain close coordination with the Support Engineering Team to;
Ensure that supportability and Supply Chain related design factors & requirements are fully considered during the system design process.
Ensure the TLS SC characteristics meet or exceed specified requirements and that the through life support burden is minimised;
Contribute to development of the FSM SC Statements of Work (SoWs) and Questionnaires.
Support to the MoD Assurance and Approvals Process.
Knowledge Qualifications and Technical Skills Required
SCM should have in depth operational experience in either Manufacturing, service delivery or supply chain operations and preferably a member of a suitable, relevant professional institution.
Working closely with industry design and supportability engineering teams, consultancies and the MoD, he will be self-motivated, have excellent communication
skills, professional intuition and the confidence to work effectively with people at all levels, both in potential lower tier supplier companies and the FSM programme itself.
Ability to plan, implement and control Supply Chain related programmes to ensure that desired results can be successfully achieved within established time and financial budgets.
Candidates must be security cleared, or willing to undergo defence security clearance.
