Key Post Objectives:
1. Responsibility for sourcing activity for selected product categories (initially grill and garment care).
2. Retain and update files relating to all dealings with all vendors.
3. Prepare data and presentations for Quarterly vendor reviews.
4. Prepare and maintain price comparison files.
5. Maintain and update status of all sourcing briefs.
6. Provide support for Sourcing Managers.
Product Sourcing
i) Liaise with EU Product Managers to gain a full understanding of product requirements
ii) Source products according to the briefs supplied liaising with vendors and the China Office (PEC)
iii) Prepare, analyse and compare quotations for consideration
iv) Preparation of price change requests
v) Negotiations with selected vendors
vi) Problem solving with selected vendors
Control of Information
Retain and keep updated files on items as below. Obtain outstanding information/commitments
from vendors
- Vendor Payment Terms
- Contractual Terms
- Chargebacks
- Warranty Claims
- Visit Reports
- Product Liability Insurance
- Packaging Specifications
Preparation of Data and Presentations for Quarterly Vendor Reviews
- Preparation/Consolidation of supplier delivery/returns/QA statistics.
- Preparation of agendas and slides for quarterly vendor reviews.

My client is a worldwide engineering manufacturer with the group head office and manufacturing plant located in Manchester. They first began manufacturing at this site over 60 years ago and have continually made significant investments in machinery, tooling, equipment and people.
Reporting to the Group Supply Chain Manager you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the day to day activities associated with the Manufacturing Supply Chain Development team. This includes order processing, inventory management of sample and 1st batch purchases on overseas vendors, organising inspection of parts, price and delivery verification and assisting with non conformities and expediting.
Key duties include:
• Gaining of quotation and the compilation of cost analysis report for outsourced products.
• Purchase order management of all on going orders for samples and 1st batch production orders.
• Control of non conformities associated to overseas vendors, which involves root cause analysis, organising rework or replacement parts as necessary.
• Constructing sample inspection reports, ensuring parts reach the quality standards required.
• To assist in the construction of the MSCD monthly report including cost saving statistical analysis.
• Administration assistance for the Group Supply Chain Manager
• Involvement in other projects as requested in support of the team objectives.
• Assist Group Business units with the expediting of parts from overseas vendors.
• Management and control of the BPCS system associated to overseas procured products.
• Goods receiving for all central products and maintaining the Central stores warehouse. Also assisting with the goods receipt of all overseas products from Europe and Supply Business units.
The Person
• Experience working in a similar role and a track record of delivering results in the above mentioned responsibilities.
• Experience working closely with engineering departments eg. Ability to read and understand technical drawings/ specifications.
• Exposure to buying from low cost countries (not essential).
• Excellent verbal communication skills (essential).
• Commercially aware.
• Good negotiator.
• Receptive and tolerant of differing cultures and environments.
• Self starter and energetic.
• Calm and decisive under pressure.

Purpose of the Job
Manage the goods inwards procedure ensuring suppliers are booked in accordance with the warehouse schedule.
Ensure goods received from suppliers are checked, put away and booked into stock in a timely manner.
Implement and maintain a stock replenishment system ensuring stock is in the correct location. Ensure stock levels are maintained according the seasonality of the business.
Implement and manage the works order process ensuring stock is counted/manufactured to the correct stock levels in a timely manner.
Maintain the packaging waste data within the computer system.
Review the stock locations on a regular basis and change as required.
Manage the customer returns procedure ensuring all stock is checked, quarantined and/or returned to supplier as required.
Implement and manage a PI system ensuring stock accuracy.
Assist the warehouse manager in the annual stock take process.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience;
Knowledge of the goods inwards process.
Hands on experience in automated stock control applications.
Experience in warehouse operations such as inventory control, receiving and storage.
Fork-lift truck licence/certification essential.
