Global Commodity Manager

We require a dedicated Global Commodity Manager to join our professional team so they can maintain their outstanding reputation for innovation, quality, performance and reliability, plus the best pre and post sales support the industry has to offer.
Primarily responsible for all aspects of, sourcing and spend of assigned global commodities in line with the global strategy, representing significant spend. The position is tasked with the globalisation of the supply chain for assigned commodities in line with the strategic direction. This role encompasses all product brands for the assigned commodities as is seen as purchasing expert for the assigned component group.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead development of global supply chain for identified commodities, ensuring robust processes in administration and operation of the purchasing function.
Be purchasing expertise for assigned commodity group, at the component level.
Support the development of the global sourcing strategies for assigned commodities and assist in the creation of implementation plans and work to completion.
Manage appropriate Suppliers at each relevant site in pursuit of Functional Excellence, and delivery of scorecard information of measurement and execution.
Implementation of Global Sourcing Strategies through the network of suppliers in accordance with agreed timescales where appropriate using leverage from the global spend.
Collect supplier, spend and technical data from all sites for assigned commodities.
Identify commodity savings opportunities and manage these to fruition.
Lead negotiations with suppliers for assigned commodities all global contracts, within the identified commodity groups, develop working practices and scorecard measures for global supply chain.
Manage cost down activities in respect to agreed targets, pursue continual excellence in component development within the supply chain.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A relevant degree is preferred as well as/or CIPS professional qualification. Six Sigma trained useful, but not essential. Significant business experience preferably in Supply Management or Manufacturing Engineering, together with a proven track record of negotiation and managing complex contracts. You should also be able to demonstrate a desire to progress and work both independently and as part of a team. Experience in electronics (specifically wound components) is highly desirable.

DUTIES INCLUDE:
Design, develop, implement and drive Business Process Transformation (BT) for the business.
Business process expert for all supply chain processes for the implementation of business systems at the company facilities worldwide.
Test and implement the project Applications functional solution for supply chain business cycles.
Own the functional and process solution design for supply chain for the Business and become the resident expert on this process.
Document and maintain End User work procedures and training materials related to supply chain.
Train the local users in supply chain related modules.
During testing and transition phase, be a key person in data conversion related reconciliations.
Participate in the Change Review Board.
Work closely with and interface with other project related and other supply chain related personnel.
A Bachelors degree and professional certification in project management is preferred, together with an understanding of the supply chain. Experience with Order to Cash/ERP packages such as Oracle, SAP, Peoplesoft, JD Edwards is ideal. You should have intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint and intermediate level skills in MS Projects is preferred.

Built on over 70 years of expertise and supplying some 3,000 OEMs and utility customers worldwide, my client uses experience and knowledge gathered from a large and diverse number of applications to design solutions that help their customers compete more successfully throughout the world.
They are now seeking a highly experienced Logistics Manager to join the team so they can continue to provide an outstanding reputation for innovation, quality, performance and reliability, plus the best pre and post sales support the industry has to offer. This role has high impact on business results (operational and financial) by ensuring logistics processes employed at plant and warehouse operations are aligned and capable of serving the requirements of both internal and external customers at optimum cost. Global Logistics spend $20m.
Duties include:
To work with site and regional leaders to identify current and future potential capability and capacity shortfalls related to the physical movement and storage of goods and develop and lead programmes to ensure Logistics infrastructure is suitably aligned with wider business strategy.
To ensure sites utilise and exploit relevant warehouse systems and manage transitional platforms at as lower cost as possible.
To ensure packaging is developed to provide suitable protection, appropriate handling and storage and that they are standardized across the plants.
Work with operation/plants/distribution centres to standardise logistics processes.
Support management to ensure logistics services are documented at optimum cost.
Act as FE leader to local resources focused on Logistics matters, defining daily operations.
Provide leadership in new systems / Distribution Centre implementations and capital purchases.
Build / develop Logistics function / direct resources within the operation.
Constantly strive to define and implement improved global processes and methods.
Define 6S hopper for Logistics processes and feed into global L&D hopper.
Experience, Qualifications & Skills
You should ideally have a mathematics degree or equivalent.
Extensive logistics and 3PL contract management experience across multiple sites and regions is desired.
Excellent communication skills.
Exposure to Six Sigma would also be an advantage.
You should also be able to demonstrate a desire to progress and succeed and be able to work as part of a team.
