Position: Materials Planner/Production Controller
REPORTS TO: Supply Chain Manager
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To monitor and maintain stock availability of products in line with agreed levels for Catalogue, National Accounts, International and Fields Sales business.

£20000 to £22000 per annum
KEY RESULT AREAS:
" Place works orders/purchase orders in required supplier to meet the lead time the business requires.
" Manage availability of all materials and component requirements to ensure production date can be met.
" Monitor and manage component issuing on works orders.
" Manage each supplier's production plan to ensure conformance to lead time.
" Manage supplier capacities.
" Provide forecasted future requirements to enable supplier to order materials, components.
" Liaise with new business development to manage new customer roll outs.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
" Confident in all MS Office application
" Strong communication skills
" Strong organisational skills
" Proficiency using the in house AS400

KEY TASKS
1. Responsible for the purchasing and stock holding of materials under the departments control, are maintained and improved to their optimum level. Achieving the overall weeks stock cover figures issued by the company & to achieve availability service levels of 98%+ 2. Ordering of products in a timely manner, at the most effective overall costs.
3. Ensuring deliveries of the ordered product are in accordance to the required delivery schedule.
4. Monitoring product history and proposing slow moving and discontinuation of products as applicable.
5. Cost quotations, proposing the most effective and cost efficient supply route.
6. Creation of product codes on the IT system, based on data from the NPI documents.
7. Arranging of the transport for the collection & delivery of raw materials from and to the external processors.
8. Perpetual inventory control
9. Responsible for identifying, preventing & solving procurement problems using SOP'S; with continuous improvement in the said Procedures and effective problem solving.
10. Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective lines of communication with external suppliers, relevant processors, Internal teams and individuals.
11. Responsible for processing effectively and speedily all relevant administrative work.

Job duties include overseeing the production of bespoke products. You will ensure that they are produced on time, efficiently, in a safe manner and to the right quality and quantity.
The successful applicant will demonstrate experience of managing large numbers of staff, carry experience of developing and motivating others whilst managing and controlling departmental expenditure within agreed budgets.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate the above attributes and experience in order to be considered.
Candidates with previous experience in the sector hold a distinct advantage over other applicants (UPVC, Timber and Aluminium).
