Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for the management of divisional supply chain to ensure smooth introduction of new projects and the maintenance of supplier performance throughout product life, achieving quality and delivery cost targets, whilst delivering common Group strategies into the division.
Experience and Skills;
Automotive experience within a Tier 1 supplier or OEM. Ability to lead and motivate a team of people.
Degree/CIPS qualified desirable but not essential.
Strong Negotiation skills.
Experience of contract management and margin enhancement.
Excellent Interpersonal Skills.
Ability to prioritise work load.
Excellent Organisational Skills.
Ability to prioritise work load.
Multi-tasking skills.

Senior Buyer - Aerospace
Salary to £30,000

My client is a manufacturer of aircraft structures and system components. They offer a comprehensive service from the supply of individual metallic or composite components through to complete sub-assemblies or kits of parts.
Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for all purchasing activities more specifically raw materials and hardware.
Responsibilities
Manage a team of 3 to purchase materials/services at the most competitive prices and least total cost.
Negotiate long term contracts where applicable and review and agree terms and conditions of contracts.
Accurate maintenance of computer stock files and bills of material.
Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
Other duties as required arising from the above and from specialist knowledge.
Liaise with QA department on quality issues relating to procurement.
Identify and evaluate new sources of supply.
Co-ordinate and support other members of the Purchasing department.
Advise SMT on purchasing activities and savings.
Quality audits and vendor ratings (including site visits where necessary).
Manage consignment stock agreements.
Help support business projects such as CAPEX investments and introduction of new work packages.
Additional Requirements
Comply fully with internal and external Quality audits.
Be responsible for the well-being and health and safety of fellow workers.
Work within the guidelines set out in the Works Procedure.
Manual and the Quality Procedure Manual.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills
Knowledge of buying composites and metals essential.
Experience in the Aerospace industry preferred although other relevant industries will be considered (automotive, rail etc).
CIPS qualification or studying towards - desirable.
Strong man management experience
Experience managing performance of existing suppliers.
Experience sourcing new suppliers and assessing suitability.
Strong negotiation skills.
Excellent communication skills - able to build effective relationships both externally and internally.
