Purpose

To manage the Purchasing Department ensuring material is purchased to meet production plan, cost, and quality and delivery requirements and to identify opportunity to reduce business risk and achieve cost reductions.

Responsibilities
• To proactively develop and support the Purchasing Team on delivering Purchasing Goals for the Group and site local goals and objectives.
• To manage the Purchasing team to ensure that Group and Site business objectives are met and best practices achieved.
• To ensure that the Purchasing team have the tools for the function and are adequately trained to carry out their responsibilities inclusive of monthly reporting to Group and project management.
• To build and maintain strong and effective supplier relationships to ensure continuous high standard delivery and quality of products.
• To identify new sources of supply to promote competition and safeguard capacity.
• To develop the supply chain to ensure delivery of a quality and cost effective product.
• To negotiate with suppliers to ensure the most advantageous contract terms and conditions to the business are obtained.
• To negotiate and develop Service Level Agreements including Warranty terms and conditions in support of reducing total product costs.
• To effectively forecast, plan, award and support the management of contracts.
• To fully understand spend profiles.
• To identify, develop and achieve year on year continuous improvement targets.

Requirements
• Degree educated and or CIPS qualified.
• Experience in the automotive industry.
• Proven managerial experience in a similar role.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen.
• Advanced negotiation, communication, influencing and presentation skills.
• Contracts management experience.
• Ability to demonstrate strong leadership, man management, motivation, delegation and decision making skills.
• Experience working in a multi functional department.

Other responsibilities;
To work with the Procurement team to create and implement the Purchasing Strategy.
To support the Engineering and Technical teams in the introduction of new products.
Working with suppliers for pre production and production requirements.
Achieving on time delivery for the project builds and best value solutions for the production parts.
To report monthly the achievements of the team highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
To provide delivery plans and recovery plans where appropriate to the production team.
To run small projects within the Department to improve the system and processes of the Company.

An opportunity has arisen within our Clients Buying Department for a Buyer.
You will have good procurement experience gained within a Pharma retailer or Pharma company (on the commercial not manufacturing side though).

Purpose of the Job
• To negotiate best prices and optimum product availability.
• Day to Day management of the product range through active management of the supplier base to achieve the budgeted sales, profit and income targets, within agreed deadlines.
• Negotiating and Expediting deals – ensuring that all opportunities are expedited quickly.
• To assist in the development of the current category plan with a strong focus on driving sales and margins.
• Own Brand sourcing.
• Assistance in the development and management of commercial proposition by channel.

Experience required:
1. Ability to negotiate and influence at all levels.
2. Professional interpersonal and communication skills, and a confident persona.
3. Understanding of the Pharmaceutical, Grey and Parallel Import markets preferred.
4. Confidentiality and discretion in dealings.
