Brand Manager

To lead and develop the category plans for the brands within our clients drinks, fresh cut fruit and Sandwiches. This is a role which puts the candidate in the lead seat to grow and expand the drinks, fruit and sandwich business. The candidate will be responsible for the brand development.
KEY ACCOUNTIBILITIES
Strategic Planning
To proactively question and make recommendations to the marketing director to answer the strategic issues that face the 3 categories and the foodservice channel.
To work with the customers and create joint business plans together for mutual benefit of both parties. Understand the customers strategic agenda and make recommendations that fit their agenda and push the business forward.
Project Implementation
To drive projects through the business to a set process.
Drive cross-functional working across the business and influence key parties to deliver the project objectives.
Identifies and manages political impacts upon the project.
Identifies and aligns required sub projects with the programme goals.
Develops appropriate project standards where appropriate.
To report to customers across the categories on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.

Formulates marketing plans that fulfill company strategic objectives.
Clearly understand the categories and the key value levers and proposes marketing tools that pull the right levers and drive value sales.
Presents plans to Sales, Board, NPD, Operations, Supply Chain to gain Company wide acceptance.
New Product Development
To construct plans for the new brands or the stretching of existing brands in the drinks, fruit and sandwich category. There is a particular emphasis on launching new drinks.
A cross functional approach needs to be applied.
Working with a set of design, research and branding agencies.

To drive profit through the exploitation and management of the brand. This is a role which puts the candidate in the lead seat to grow and expand this latent brand with support of the brands family. The candidate will have full responsibility of the marketing mix and will be responsible for the strategic development of the brand within existing channels (frozen) and the development into new channels (chilled and others). Reports directly to marketing director.

To monitor every element of the P+L above fixed overheads and make recommendations to improve profitability whilst maintaining the product values in the brand.
Set up cross functional teams to address cost savings where appropriate.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Degree in any subject

Job Description:
To lead and develop the category plans for Chilled Ready Meals and own brand Soup.
Reports to Marketing director. Works alongside 2 other category marketers, all responsible for retailer brands, and a consumer marketing team of 4.

This role is based on the following own label accounts by category.
1. Chilled Ready Meals for JS, Asda, Coop, Spar, and licensed brands.
2. Own Label Soup for JS
1. The development of new commercial initiatives, working cross functionally, to deliver profitable solutions.
2. Develop with sales, the channel strategies and account plans for the fiscal and the 5 year plan.
3. Reporting and account support
4. Annual Category Report
I. Formal summary of year’s performance with recommendations & insights, which are then built into budget process & figures. Working with data providers Nielsen (answers) to provide true insight.
5. Monthly Category Summary report.
6. Quarterly Category Reviews
i. Full cat review with recommendations & insights.
ii. Proactively presenting to customers in a formal structured way.
7. Weekly Retailer Data Analysis
i. In-depth analysis of the retailer epos data, which would be built into the suite of reports.
ii. Key KPIs being sales trends; promo effectiveness; wastage; availability; distribution; GM%
8. Store Audit analysis & recommendations.
9. In store evaluation & effectiveness, to cover.
i. Promotional mechanic evaluation & effectiveness.
ii. Price basket analysis.
Skills / Duties:
