Head of Product Marketing - Derbyshire - Up to £80,000

£60000 to £80000 per annum
Provide our customers with an outstanding product range, with products that are famous for being exciting, special, quality, good value for money, and which make our customer smile. Develop a product range that is successful in exceeding the growth aspirations across all channels. Create powerful sub-brands, ensure our product range is step-changed within AYR gifting & personalisation, and also ensuring successful delivery of the key season & strong innovation within the impulse and share categories.
Key Accountabilities
-Management of overheads budget in excess of £1.7m.
-Manage Gift activity costs to less than £350k (non activity budgeted at £280k).
-Manage impulse and share activity costs to less than £310k (non activity budgeted at £200k).
-Manage seasonal activity costs to less than £140k (non activity budgeted at £330k).
-Oversee the licensing income generation to the business in excess of £1m with growth.
-Manage, lead and develop a team of 17 (6 direct and 11 indirect reports).
-Oversee the entire SKU mix across the business and the entire product development plan.
- Develop and manage the agreed product development plan (encompassing both product refreshes & true innovation) that delivers and exceeds the growth aspirations across all channels.
- Work with your team and channel stakeholders to help shape strong and supporting underpinning processes with clear and concise decision making accountabilities. Help shape a new product development (refresh and innovation) process that is fit for purpose against the new business structures.
- Work with the Brand & sub-brands strategy - ensure all of our agreed sub-brands have clear and compelling propositions and ensure strong communication of this strategy internally. Create at least one sub-brand for launch into the market across all channels in 2012.
- Own and develop the 3 year product development and marketing strategy. Ensure the Product Group Managers each have 1-3 year brand plans in place and well communicated internally. Lead and develop the team so that marketing become renowned for being an outstanding business partner to other functions.
- Deliver against the new flagship boxed chocolate brand, and ensure we step change our offer across both gifting and personalisation. Deliver strong execution and growth of the seasons and successfully launch innovation within impulse and share.
- Ensure packaging and concept developments are equally strong components of NPD.
- Ensure a thorough understanding of market, customer and product data. Act upon insights by influencing the future product direction and strategy.
- Develop an agreed process for working in partnership effectively with Retail, TD and Commercial.
- Ensure the product plans in place deliver against critical channel objectives in line with the brand and customer priorities.
- Ensure delivery of behaviours in line with our company values of togetherness, imagination and excellence.

Knowledge / Skills
- Exstensive experience of working in an FMCG and / or multi channel environment, with at least 3-5 years specific marketing and NPD experience.
- Experience of developing strong strategies that deliver category and market growth, and that are based on key market, competitor and consumer insights.
- Solid understanding of brand strategy and experience of launching and integrating new products in line with brand strategies.
- Proven analytical ability in order to interpret complex data and take action on key data.
- Ability to flex and adapt in order to still deliver when faced with uncertainty, barriers and challenges.
- Project Management experience and qualifications – proven track record of leading multiple and cross functional projects.
- Ability to lead change within the business.
- Proven ability to learn from the world around us and act upon key insights from the market, customer etc.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent & ideally CIM qualified.
- Experience of successfully managing a multi functional marketing team.

Relationship management of external marketing suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
Develop, train and inspire the Marketing Executives.
Provide an integrated, cross-channel trading and marketing strategy that uses online marketing, partnerships, mobile marketing and printed materials, and that contributes to overall Consumer marketing strategy.
Set multi-channel PPC & affiliate strategy in order to generate the strongest possible business returns.
In conjunction with the Head of TD and the Website Manager, develop a 12 month rolling Trading & Marketing Plan that delivers campaign objectives and target ROIs, is consistent with TPLC customer & brand strategy, is on time and within budget, and is communicated to internal stakeholders, incorporating (across online and mobile):
• PPC search campaigns
• affiliate campaigns
• prospect email/text campaigns
Contribute to overall TD strategy as a member of the TD Management Team.
In conjunction with the Head of Brand & Customer Communications, deliver TPLC partnerships strategy.
Working with Retail Trading & Marketing Manager, proactively grow the consumer prospect database via effective and impactful acquisition campaigns; develop exciting and targeted marketing campaigns that ‘convert’ prospects into customers.
Skills / Duties:
Working closely with the Customer Marketing Manager, help develop successful retention campaigns that increase existing customers’ frequency of purchase and advocacy levels.
In conjunction with the Head of Brand & Customer Communications, help communicate and coordinate the business wide communications strategy across all available media channels within consumer direct ensuring creative brand consistency across all customer touch points.
In conjunction with the Customer Insights Manager, ensure all trading and marketing activities respond to the thoughts and needs of our customers.
Analyse results of all activity to ensure learnings are captured and used to inform future strategies and marketing plans.
With the Website Manager, analyse the online gifting visitor market to identify opportunities for sales improvement. Keep abreast of online marketing advancements - educate internally & ensure we capitalise on the right opportunities at the right time.
In conjunction with the Website Manager, proactively identify NPD opportunities and work with Product Marketing to ensure any development is flagged as a priority.
Plan and manage the trading & marketing budget ensuring no overspends, whilst maximising activity to ensure targets are met. Build and maintain agency relationships in order to maximise the ROI from online campaigns.
Promote online marketing communications within TPLC and educate stakeholders re: opportunities.
Qualifications:
Knowledge/Skills:
• 5-7 years relevant experience, in particular with regard to managing PPC and affiliate campaigns.
• Good understanding of acquisition marketing and strong commercial ability.
• Analytical skills and strategic thinking.
• Familiarity with customer profiling and segmentation strategies.
• Experience of implementing brand and customer communication strategies.
• Budget management.
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency on Word, Excel, Outlook and IE.
• Good communication and time management skills in order to deliver cross-departmental projects.
