The candidate will be:

• Educated to good degree level; probably an engineering or science background.
• Experienced in Business Development and commercial activity in some of the markets; international energy, power utilities, process industries, chemical engineering, chemicals, engineering.
• Structured and organised in their approach to Business Development with evidence of delivering on £M sales targets.
• Results-oriented with a ‘make it happen’ attitude in a team environment.
• Innovative and able to develop technical and commercial solutions.
• Skilled in recognising and articulating both client and market needs in order to help develop innovative and technically/commercially viable solutions.

Candidate will be a strong team player, and be willing to travel internationally. You will have the ability to work autonomously, good organisational and inter-personal skills and be comfortable dealing with clients at multiple levels.

Our client is a UK manufacturer of specialist heat exchangers, providing bespoke technical solutions to customers throughout the world. Part of a UK-listed multi-national engineering group, the company has annual sales of c£30m.

They're looking for a Technical Account Manager for a key client. This is a UK-based position but travel will be an essential component of this role. Spoken Portuguese would be adantageous although this is not an essential requirement. Your experience will be within offshore/chemical/mechanical/process/engineering industries.

Reporting into the Aftersales Manager, the role is to develop and implement key account plans to support our clients strategy of developing Aftersales and Customer Service opportunities. You will manage the relationship with clients, identifying opportunities to provide excellent service that is highly valued by their client base. This includes both reactive services (such as site services and maintenance) as well as proactive initiatives such as developing long-term agreements. Additionally you will establish and implement routine operator training programmes and workshops in order to ensure optimisation of uptime and enhanced client communication.

Your ability to seize opportunities to build a long-term, mutually rewarding business relationship will be top-notch. Measures of your success will include the quality of the client relationship, the value of orders and margin generated and the delivery of a complete support programme to the client.
