The role holder is responsible for business development strategy and execution of agreed actions in their assigned geographic locations or allocated salon businesses that may be off territory. All plans are communicated to and signed off by the BDM National Manager before needs analysis and follow up presentations are delivered.
Key to this role is the commercial know-how and personal confidence and impact of the role holder to produce consistent exceptional sales growth through new account openings and high service levels to existing accounts.
The role holder is an ambassador for both brands at all times including Industry and Key Account functions and is a role model of sales expertise and account management for other Sales Executives to learn from and aspire to.
A highly competent Business Development Manager will be making productive relationships not only with their sales team colleagues but also with key customers, guest artists and Education team senior role holders.
Main Responsibilities
A & B Account Acquisition Strategies
To execute with the BDM National Manager and Business Development Management team a strategy for prospecting, visiting and capturing new category salon business and maintaining existing accounts which grow sales, in line with budget targets.
Part of this key accountability is the skill to be able to conduct needs analysis presentations for new prospects and subsequently deliver business proposal presentations that have been sanctioned by the BDM.
To be responsible for designing business development initiatives at any level that bring about sales and distribution growth whether for an individual salon group or applied unilaterally.
To maintain competitor analysis data and keep up-to-date with potential changes in the market that will impact.
To be able to develop and expose role holders salons within the local market place and where appropriately on a national/international level.
Existing Account Business Reviews
To attend key Business reviews for accounts that role-holder is jointly responsible for and ensure all issues are discussed and any problems resolved.
As part of above, to be responsible for arranging review meetings and structuring agendas to meet both parties needs.
To be able to drive these meetings productively and action the specific priorities.
Where needed, be able to devise promotional activity and design staff incentives in conjunction with Marketing team and agreed by BDM.
Able to present short one off training sessions (eg Profit or Perish) or structured longer term programmes that meet needs.
Account Installations and Training programmes
Able to co-ordinate all stages of installation and liaise with relevant company contacts.
Works closely with Regional Education team to ensure programme is in place.
Able to explain Academy Prospectus for both brands with accounts.
Account Contract Negotiations
To be able to play an active role with negotiations in conjunction with the BDM and is aware of key components of a well written and accurate contract.
Can liaise with the Finance Director when contracts need to be generated and modified.
Mentor/Ambassador of Brand
To support where appropriate, new joiners in Sales and Education Teams through accompaniments, running training sessions during Induction programmes with particular emphasis on commercial aspects of role.
Knowledge
How to propect and deliver high quality needs analysis and proposal presentations with confidence.
Good working and technical knowledge of colourants, treatments and haircare products.
Skills
Able to organise working schedule to ensure correct number of locations are visited and is able to plan contingencies often at last minute.
Able to communicate highly effectively in writing (producing presentations) and verbally (delivering presentations) to influence key clients to choose KPSS every time.
Able to look for new solutions and creates new ideas.

A commercially aware individual with excellent knowledge of International Retailers in the Health & Beauty Sector.
Will be able to demonstrate success if launching new products into the International market via distributor support.
Ability in manage A&P budget within each market.
Key Responsibilities
To develop and build key multiple retailers across target regions.
To drive profitable sales growth and maximise Retail Distribution.
Work cross functionally within the business to ensure our clients ability to deliver at all levels so that sales objectives are met.
Report in an accurate and timely manner weekly sales call, monetary sales meetings and regular up-dates with the Brand Managers at International Sales and Marketing Meetings.
Up-date sales forecast by market by channel through Demand Planning and Forecasting Team and (S&OP).
Develop and implement brand strategy in region via Key Retail Channels.
Develop Brand in existing markets via Distributor Partners.
Select distributor partnerships with 3-5 year contracts with clear business plans and targets.
Ensure existing Sales and Marketing plan is proactive to capture incremental business opportunities.
Identify and propose route to market for Professional Hair Care via styling distribution to Salons and Professional Retailers.
Build Brand and promotional plans with in country PR and joint business plans with Key Distributor Partners to deliver annual sales budgets.
Provide the company with market intelligence, competitor activity.
Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the regions.
Key Skills
A proven track record in retail national account management with exposure to multiple retailers on an international basis particularly in the designated territory.
Current working knowledge of FMCG in particular health & beauty landscape and an understanding of trends and fashions.
Solid understanding of modern retailing ideally with a health & beauty background, international or European experience would be a considerable advantage.
Experience managing distributors to ensure that our clients brands are given the required focus.
Team Player.
Excellent commercial business skills and understanding of ROI/Business development strategies.
Energetic self starter who can add value to the business and support the Sales Director going forward.
Excellent English written and spoken. Additional European languages an advantage.
Good IT skills MS Office particularly Excel.
Demand Solutions / Forecasting.
Good Negotiator & Power Point Presenter, experience presenting in English in a foreign language environment is an asset.
Understanding and adapting to changing cultural and diverse customs.
Ability to achieve targets.
