As an established, independent company our client are seeking a high calibre individual with a proven track record in sales and sales management to join the company as its Head of Sales. The role is to accelerate the growth in sales of both established and new markets through a combination of direct and indirect channels.
As Head of Sales you will be responsible for managing the UK sales team, developing a global network of agents/distributors, ensuring customers are reached through the development of focused sales strategies and ensuring sales targets are achieved.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Head of Sales is responsible for:

Management team
Contribute to the client strategy
Produce accurate sales reports and forecasts
Attend and present at monthly management meetings
Ensure the sales team is aligned to the company objectives
Ensure that sales infrastructure is maintained and developed
Sales team
Ensure pricing book is maintained to ensure margin is achieved
To ensure sufficient prospects are in pipeline to achieve budget
To develop the formal sales process and ensure it is followed
Ensure individual and department KPI performance data is developed and maintained to ensure team focus
To ensure all proposals and presentations are of a sufficiently high standard
Sales tracking tools are accurate and up to date
Develop high level contacts within existing customers and prospects to assist the sales team in winning business
Develop and mentor sales staff
Ensure new business is professionally handed over from Sales to Operations & Finance
When necessary directly own the customer/prospect relationship
Assess resource requirements and undertake recruitment activities including interviews and selection in conjunction with HR
Agents/distributors
Manage and support existing agents to assist them to achieve Sales targets
Attend conferences exhibitions to network with existing/potential customers and agents
Forward potential agents to the Chairman
Sales Promotion
Liaise with external agencies e.g. web developers to support promotional information
Ensure regular PR is generated and distributed
Ensure Web site news is regularly updated
Ensure web site is kept up to date with new products and services
Ensure that all Health and Safety, housekeeping, quality and environmental polices and procedures are adhered to
DIMENSIONS
(Level of responsibility e.g. budget, people, function reports)
The Head of Sales is responsible for ensuring that our client meets the companies sales budget and that all new business is capable of meeting GP targets. The Head of Sales is responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies along with the management of any sub contractors or staff within this function.
FRAMEWORK
The Head of Sales is a key management position within the company and will contribute to the companies overall business plan.
The Head of Sales will operate within the framework of objectives and targets determined by the Managing Director but with the latitude to pursue initiatives that will enable the sales targets to be achieved.
RELATIONSHIPS
The Head of Sales will report directly to the Managing Director and as part of the management teamwork closely with all other members of the team.
Internally, the Head of Sales shall liaise with personnel within all departments. There will be regular interface at Senior Management & Director level.
Externally, the Head of Sales is expected to liaise directly with all stakeholders at commercial, operational and director levels.
QUALIFICATIONS and PERSONAL PROFILE
Educated to HND or degree level, and must possess a minimum of 5 years sales management experience working within the electronic services arena, selling to large corporate customers.
A proven track record in sales management is essential.
