ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR
Our client provides a range of services including Acquisition, Planning, Design and Construction as well as network management and optimisation services.
Further Details:
Due to growth there is now a opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team.
You will be responsible for:-
• Providing Financial & QS support to the team and operational management to ensure the contract is delivered and best value is achieved.
• Preparation of Tender Packages, enquiries, analysis, negotiation, scope of works and levelling activities culminating in client recommendation and issue of award letter
• Tender evaluation and production of tender recommendations in accordance with the NJCC codes of tendering
• Subcontract Management
• Issuing variation instructions, compensation events and change request and negotiation of valuations and final accounts
• Managing QS Interface on internal database ensuring all costs are tracked and validated
The successful candidate will:-
• Be a confident communicator with good negotiating skills, a flexible, positive, can do attitude and some-one who enjoys working as part of the team.
• Experience in a similar role or a contracting environment
• Have a HNC, HND degree or equivalent in Building/Quantity Surveying
• Knowledge of procurement packages such as SAP, Oracle, JDE etc
• Preferred working knowledge of NEC form of contract; in particular Short Contract, Sub-Contract and Option A – Priced contract with Activity Schedule
• Knowledge of Construction packages and techniques
• Have a full driving licence and flexibility terms of working hours, travelling and overnight stays.
